Need to film nose to nose with endangered animals? Is your concern for the animal’s safety as much as the safety of your cameramen? The BubbleCam is the answer.
We are a film crew out of Memphis, Tennessee prototyping a new wireless camera that films from the ground keeping all cameramen at a safe distance from dangerous animals. It has been tested and proven safe for the animal, capturing it in a normal, curious state. The BubbleCam has been held in highest esteem by zookeepers and veterinarians at the Memphis Zoo. We’ve been filming weekly for six months, each shoot producing successful video while inflicting no harm or stress to the animals filmed.
Here are a few clips filmed by the BubbleCam:

Hi, I love this site, but just wanted to comment that you have to click “newer zooborns” at the bottom to get to older pictures. I’m thinking that’s a mistake? Just wanted to help.
    Keep the babies coming!

Wonderful site! The adorable babies really make my day. However, I was distressed to see the snake recently. I have a severe phobia. Snakes are NOT cute.

I can’t see the videos with Firefox or Explorer (I have the latest version of everything installed, but it doesn’t work). Would you consider posting the videos in a different format?

I recently saw a couple of live elephant births. one at a zoo and one out in the wild, and they were so amazing I wanted my granddaughter to see them because she loves elephants. Are the videos still available for viewing and if so how do I find them. Love your site.

Great site, great books … where’s the calendar. I mean this is about ‘birthdays’ … we need a calender. And I suggest that all of the pictures from the ‘past year’ (ie: the ones that would be 1 yrs old) should be a small picture on their birthday. And one choice photo from that month should be the big picture for the month. That should keep us buying a new ZooBorn calendar every year along with the book(s).

Hello:) Firstly I would like to congratulate the creators on both website and books. I’m writing on behalf of “BirdPark Malta”, the first park of its kind to appear on the Maltese Islands.
We are on the verge of opening to the public, and would like to ask Andrew Bleiman, and Chris Eastland for their permission to utilize some of the information presented in their books “zooborns”, to display on things such as the kid’s area, and food mats.
It is very important for us to make it clear to the Maltese public, that our aim is not to promote captivity, but conservation. We feel that information such as that found within the books would be perfect.
The thing is, I don’t know how to get through to the authors directly:P If i am so lucky as to have them read this, then please reply at yasmincachia@gmail.com ,it would be much appreciated 🙂 If not, I would also appreciate it if anybody could give me any contact details. All the best!

please fix your webpage that lists the names of the babies of each animal. the format size selected causes one name to roll over into the next animal, (porcupine) and thus, the name for a baby porcupine is not listed, but skipped instead. thank you for a great website!!!!

  20. Andrew Bleiman Avatar

Thank you Brady! See if the baby names page is easier to navigate now.

At least you have a Policy. Most blogs don’t and this leads to lots of confusion and problems. Props to Andrew for adding this.

Nothing from Zoo New England? Nobody reading the Globe? (I don’t do pics! Somebody go, please!) A male Grant’s Zebra was born at the Franklin Park Zoo February 9th, named Nemo after the storm, to parents Cheyenne and James, weighed 88 pounds during his well-baby examination.
Also a male Bongo, as yet unnamed, was born to parents Annakiya and Junior; he weighed 50 pounds at exam.
Also the Stone Zoo a prehensile-tailed porcupine was born on Feb. 16 to parents Comica and Elvis.

There are three lion cubs that survived the June 13, 2015, flood that destroyed the zoo in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. Of the 600 animals in the zoo, less than half remain and 3 zookeepers died in the flood. There are several websites that have been set up for donations to help the zoo and the city’s largest dog shelter, which was destroyed in the flood as well. I would be happy to send Zooborns the website(s). The lion cubs need our help!

Wishlist for future entries: Could you put the location of the zoo near/at the top of the entry. It would be helpful to learn about zoos all over the world, and some that might be close to home! Some zoo names don’t make the location obvious.
    Thanks from a daily fan!
