The kit was born on June 21 to a two-year-old mother and a father who had died in 2000. National Zoo reproductive scientists inseminated the female with frozen black-footed ferret semen stored in their genome resource bank—a frozen repository of sperm and eggs of a variety of endangered species.

I thought that baby ferrets were called “kits”? Or is that simply the domestic kind? Either way, this is adorable.

They are great pets, I have two: Gus and Moose, and they are the love of my life! Be prepared for mischief though if you buy/adopt!

I so miss having a ferret. Not only was my little Shasta adorable, but she used to hunt the cats down and bug them incessantly, even learning to go for a ride by holding on to their collars. Never hurt anyone, just loved to have fun. Hilarious. 🙂

I love ferrets!! I wish there were more sites showing ferrets and where I could
get more info.on them. Would you please suggest a few of these sites, if you know of any? Thank you.
