The Newest, Cutest Baby Animals from the World's Zoos & Aquariums
The pair (one male, one female) was born on Wednesday May 13 at the Central Florida Zoo. They are all on exhibit now, doing well and their Mom is taking good care of them. As is typical of Red-Ruffed lemurs, the mom “parks” the babies so she can forage for food in the wild and the design of the Zoo's exhibit allows her plenty of areas to “park” them while she forages.
For your blurb about this, Red-ruffed Lemurs (which these are) are actually only one of a few Lemur species that leave their young in a nest to forage. Most lemur species actually carry their young with them like other primates.
Oh, I love lemurs! I used to work at the World Famous…you know where…Zoo. My favorite part of the day was waiting to clock out by the Lemur Exhibit. They are sooo cool!
