It's a spring Silvery-cheeked Hornbill chick! Although this large featherless baby looks a lot like Daffy Duck after some comic accident, it is in fact a healthy baby hornbill born May 29th at the Central Florida Zoo

Silvery-cheeked hornbills are native to East Africa but threatened by habitat destruction. This chick is being raised by keepers as its older sibling was picking on it.

    Yes, it certainly looks better with feathers. I feel bad for the poor little guy being picked on. I guess it happens in all circles.

    As baby’s yes they are, they looked like a plucked rat with a beak, glad I had one long enough to feed to my pet python, intentionally breaking both its legs and hearing it scream in agony as the snake was cooking around it and crushing its ribs and lungs was one of the most satisfying sounds I have ever heard in all my life
