Keepers at Australia’s Wildlife Wonderland Park were amazed to discover that their resident koala had given birth to twins last week. Unfortunately there is only room for one koala joey at a time in mom’s pouch and baby Kialla was forced out. Keepers are hand raising the baby koala, which requires round the clock care.

Those paws are HUGE! LOL

OMG, you’d think Momma Nature would not bless her with twins if she was incapable of carrying both. Thank goodness the little darling was born in the zoo so you guys can give her a fighting chance! So, who carries her around in a ‘pouch’ all day?

Awwwwww, that is sooooo cute, and yet sad at the same time. I would have thought if the mama koala was not able to have more than one koala joey, then why did she have two? was this a natural insemination or was it an artifical one? well, in any case, thank goodness that wee one arrived in the care of human mamas. the guy that was holding the baby koala is clearly smitten with it and i know it will receive the very best care it can get.

Kialla: “My new Momma is an Australian man!” (The powers that be are cruel sometimes. That’s life.)

good luck little girl~ -
PLEASE keep us informed about Kialla, ok? I just watched the vids and saw the cutest pic of this cute little koala girl! I did not know that mother koalas can HAVE twins! I thought that they were only able to have just one baby koala. I just learned something new about koalas! I’m also very glad that Kialla was born at this zoo and is now being very well cared for by her koala keepers. She is so precious and will be a great ambassador for all of the koalas down under! Keep us updated about her, ok?
Thanks,
Chari Mercier 🙂
