While they may look like over-sized guinea pigs, hyraxes are actually more closely related to elephants and manatees and in prehistoric times reached the size of a small horse! I was a volunteer at the San Francisco Zoo for three years. I can vouch for the fact that not only are hyraxes devious, they are nasty-tempered little beasts.
