The Newest, Cutest Baby Animals from the World's Zoos & Aquariums
Life on White is a Belgian team that has photographed over 469 different animal species, all on white backgrounds. This week they photographed baby Menari, the new orangutan at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, and were kind enough to share the incredible photos. Enjoy.
Menari is the Audubon Zoo's first baby orangutan in 13 years and her name means "dance" in Indonesian
I once spent three hours communing with an orangutan at the San Diego zoo. My family gave up and left me there. Now I’m smitten with Menari.

Menari is a wonder to behold! She is PERFECT.
Her cousins are critically endangered in the wild because of rapid deforestation and the expansion of palm oil plantations in Borneo and Sumatra.
If nothing is done to protect these majestic creatures, they could be extinct in just a few years.

I saw her in person last week and she is as sweet as can be!!
She’s so precious! I was at the zoo on Saturday and got to see her, but she was sleeping. So cutely!! I took a photo, and my mom (who wasn’t @ the zoo) was instantly smitten!! So glad I got to see her!!
Baby orangs have the softest fur. When it gets wet, it kinks up into little waves. And when they teethe, they suck their finger and chew their toys. They have a wonderful silent laugh when they are playing…it’s just a huge grin! I miss babysitting orangs!
