The Newest, Cutest Baby Animals from the World's Zoos & Aquariums
Over the last few weeks we brought you installments number one and number two of the Pallas' Cat kittens' progress at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation. Now seven weeks old, today we bring you the third installment in the trilogy in which the kittens venture out of their den in earnest and start exploring.

This series of videos of Mama Pallas cat with her kittens has got to rank up there near the very top of cuteness, especially for those of us who love cats.
I especially enjoyed the last video of the kittens falling asleep after nursing.

These little Pallas babies have the most beautiful, thick fur. The soft coloring is so unusual! And they are still so incredibly roly-poly! What a joy to see these unusual little cats as they grow up with their dedicated mommycat. It’s so fun to see them in their nestbox and then escaping into the wilds of their enclosure, only to be dragged or herded back to the safety of the “inside.” Can’t wait to see them wailing away at each other and dashing around during major kitten-play! Where can we learn more about these unusual little felines? Is there a breeding program in the USA? Can they be innoculated against toxoplasmosis? How many live in American zoos? Are they socialized to their humans (which seems to me a handy thing to do for vet exams and less stress for the cats generally) or are they kept wild? What innoculations do they receive? How long do they live? What is their genetic makeup? I’d love to see them romping in the snow!

Wow, those kittens are sooo adorable. I almost thought at first, they were small racoons. I’ve never seen cats like these before..
I adore the whole feline family, but have never before seen Pallas Cats. I have fallen in love. These are the most beautiful of all the beautiful cats out there, and what I love about them is that they are small cats. Can they be domesticated or not? Are they typical of all wild cats in that they should never be domesticated? What steps are being taken other than zoo conservation of these beauties? Are they still at risk in the wild state in the Russian steppes or are they going to be protected? Thank you for introducing me to these wonderful little creatures.
