On November 2nd, Perth Zoo's Nocturnal House welcomed a newly born Ghost Bat. The pup is developing well under its mother's care. This Australian species is listed as Vulnerable to extinction with only 4,000 – 6,000 remaining in the wild.

Wait, what? The thing clinging to the white furry thing is the pup? Yikes!

Ok
hard to say cute 😀 -
The mom probably thinks her baby is cute 🙂

Can she possibly fly and hunt (I looked it up, they are carnivorous)with that huge (relative to her size) pup clinging to her? And what a fragile-looking animal! Look how slender her toes are; it seems like they’d snap under the slightest stress. And how thin the membrane seems. She must be tougher than she looks.

ya, it took me a minute to see that was the pup clinging. the adult is lovely. (sorta like the ugly ducking story or a face only a mother can love LOL).
