African Elephant Calf, Mapenzi (Penzi for short), was born on April 6, 2020 at Tuscon, AZ’s Reid Park Zoo. This video tracks some of her cutest moments. In the very last clip, listen closely for when we hear Penzi's Mom call her calf from off frame!

I am beyond excited to see yet another baby elephant join the herd . It is imperative we do EVERYTHING in our power to protect, rescue and encourage communities to save ALL elephants and work together with their community leaders to come up with ways elephants and villages can co-exist. Beehives is one way but there are so many others options.
I look forward to watching more updates on her and the herd’s lives. -
I truly believe that elephants are the finest creatures on earth, more so than humans.
