Photographer and zoo visitor Wei snapped these shots of a precocious little baby Marmoset at Brisbane Australia's Alma Park Zoo. This little character is just over a month old but even adults stand only about 5 1/2 inches tall. The Common Marmoset is distributed throughout the Atlantic Coastal Forest in Northeast Brazil.

Meet Mogo Zoo’s newest little marmoset. Ebe was raised by keepers after his mother died just five days after his birth. Keepers initially thought Ebe’s odds of survival were low but hand raising by the Zoo’s head primate keeper paid off and Ebe is thriving. The world’s smallest monkey, pygmy marmosets like Ebe here, weigh only 20 grams as newborns – less than a human thumb.

Belgium's Antwerp Zoo recently welcomed Golden Headed Lion Tamarin twins. These little Brazilian monkeys are endangered in the wild and, while the population decline seems to have been stabilized thanks to conservation efforts in Brazil's União Biological Reserve, continued habitat destruction outside of the park makes the prospects of reintroduction beyond União bleak.
Baby marmoset or gremlin? You decide… -
These tiny twins are the newest addition to the Pygmy Marmoset family in Houston Zoo’s Natural Encounters rainforest. Weighing in at about a half ounce as babies, marmosets are the smallest monkey in the world.

Clyde Nishimura got these great shots of Vlad the sloth being tormented by a curious baby golden lion tamarind. The confrontation went down a little over a month ago at the National Zoo.

If these guys don't remind you of "Gizmo" from Gremlins, I don't know if anything will. A.J. Haverkamp captured these priceless marmoset moments at the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam just the other day. There are actually two babies in that fluffy mound, can you make out both? Thanks for the incredible pics A.J.!

Already the smallest monkey in the world, these baby marmosets are absolutely itty-bitty. Baby pygmy marmosets can currently only be spotted by very keen-eyed visitors to Lakes Aquarium in the UK. They appear as furry lumps on the backs of their parents – most often their father.
These little babies only weight half an ounce!
This last picture actually comes from the Everland Zoo and Theme Park in South Korea, but should give you an idea of scale.

This Pygmy Marmoset is in honor of William Richter, ZooBorns' #1 fan!
