  • Shower For Baby Elephant Mali

    Given the currently quite mild temperatures, Wuppertal Zoo’s Elephant calf (born October 14th) can get a shower outside! Together with her mother "Tika", the little one clearly enjoys being sprayed with the water hose.

    The African elephants in the Wuppertal Zoo are regularly showered and washed for skin care. This also allows the animal care team to make an accurate inspection of the skin condition of the animals and strengthens trust between elephants and animal caretakers.

  • Anori, Knut’s Half-sister, Debuts in Germany

    Born January 12th at Germany's Wuppertal Zoo, Anori made her public debut this weekend, curiously exploring her way through her new exhibit. Mother Polar Bear, Vilma, has been a model parent to young Anori and happily the two have remained together. ZooBorns will bring you more pictures as they become available.

    On April 3, the Wuppertal Zoo in Germany debuted four little lion cubs.

    Per German ZooBorns reader "Lunchi" – The mother is named Kisangani and the father is Massai. Their are three males and one female. Interestingly, the father, almost 10 years old, was present during the birth of the babies.
